TFSD Receives Grant! Exciting news for Career Technical Education students in the TFSD!

In our ongoing commitment to ensuring that students are career-ready, the Twin Falls School District is proud to announce that we have been awarded $1,060,880 in grant funding to expand the welding and agriculture programs at Twin Falls High School. This grant is part of a broader initiative by the Idaho Career Ready Students (ICRS) council, which has recently allocated over $18.5 million to enhance Career Technical Education (CTE) across the state.

This funding arrives as the Twin Falls School District continues to expand its welding and agricultural education offerings. Recently, the district committed to hiring an animal science teacher, whose program will be housed at Canyon Ridge High School. This addition underscores our dedication to providing diverse and comprehensive educational opportunities that align with both student interests and workforce needs.

The ICRS grants are designed to ensure that Idaho’s students have access to high-quality, locally supported educational opportunities. The grants are awarded based on several criteria, including the strength of partnerships with local industries, the sustainability of the proposed programs, and the alignment with community and statewide workforce needs.

Hundreds of students access these vital programs every year, gaining the skills and hands-on experience they need to succeed in high-demand fields like welding and agriculture. The expansion of these programs will further empower our students and contribute to the economic vitality of our community by preparing career-ready graduates.

At Twin Falls School District, we are dedicated to creating pathways for our students to succeed, whether they choose to enter the workforce immediately after graduation or pursue further education. The expansion of our CTE programs is a critical part of this mission, and we are excited about the opportunities this grant will create for our students.

As we continue to focus on building strong, sustainable programs that respond to the needs of our students and community, we look forward to seeing the positive impact this funding will have on our district. We are grateful to the Idaho Career Ready Students Council and the Idaho Legislature for their continued support of education in our state.

Together, we are building a brighter future for our students and our community.
